Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Teyuna! My love for creating beautiful experiences started early—rooted in the warm chaos of family gatherings and hands-on lessons from my mom. Growing up in a family of six (with an even larger extended crew), celebrations were constant. Whether it was a holiday, a birthday, or just a "why not?" moment, we always found a reason to gather. My mom, a creative DIYer and seamstress, naturally took the lead—decorating, planning, and teaching me and my sisters the ropes. From those early days as her "assistant," I unknowingly stepped into a lifelong passion for event design, space planning, and thoughtful detail.
Before launching Discerning Decor, Balloons, and More full-time, I enjoyed a long-standing career in the public education system—serving in various roles that sharpened my leadership ability, logistics skills, strengthened my creativity, and deepened my love for making moments meaningful.
Today, I bring that same energy and care to every event we touch. What I enjoy most is collaborating with clients—hearing their vision, understanding their vibe, and then bringing it to life with flair and intentionality. I believe the magic is in the details, and there’s no better feeling than delivering a final design that surpasses expectations.
While I enjoy all types of events, I especially love working with corporate and school clients, grand openings, and ribbon cuttings—moments where you can clearly see how balloon and event décor transforms a space and leaves a lasting impression.
